F.O.L.K. at the Fete

Following a very successful History Hunt which saw 21 families sign up to delve into our village’s past (and raise £21 towards the charity fund), five very impressive creative entries ranging from short stories and poems to photographs and colourful collages were read and reviewed by our guest judge, author Alison Bruce, last weekend.

To find out if YOU were crowned the overall winner of the competition, you will have to be at the Friends of Lakenheath Library gazebo at this year’s Lakenheath Fete on Saturday 3rd August at 3pm, where Alison herself will be announcing the victor. The prize is a framed portrait courtesy of Stan Rolls of Lakenheath Camera Club, and the winning creative entry will also be published in a future issue of the Lakenheath Times!

For the second year running, the F.O.L.K. tent will be at the Lakenheath Fete from noon-4pm this Saturday, where we will be hosting a second hand book sale and tombola to raise further funds for the library. It will also grant attendees an opportunity to talk to a “Friend” about what we’re doing on behalf of our village library. Alison Bruce will also be available to talk about her back catalogue of crime novels and promote her upcoming fifth release in the DC Goodhew series, The Backs, from 2.30-4pm.

Stayed tuned to our blog for a review and photos from the event in the coming weeks!
