Race Night Announcement

Friends of Lakenheath Library are proud to announce that they will be hosting a RACE NIGHT at the Lakenheath Village Hall on Saturday 5th October. Doors open at 7pm and the first race begins at 7.30. Tickets are £3.00 each, available from both Lakenheath Library and the Post Office. Bring your ticket on the evening to be entered into the draw for a door prize!

Each of the night’s 8 pre-recorded races, supplied by B&W Services (Rent-A-Race) and sponsored by a host of local businesses, will be projected onto the big screen in the hall, offering all the excitement of an evening’s racing with tote betting facilities! You can bet on each race and put your money on which horse you fancy finishing first, or for £2.00 you can “own” a horse and if that horse then wins the race, you claim a bottle of wine on top of your winnings!

Bring your own food and drink and enjoy your own “picnic” on the night, for a really fun event which brings the excitement of the races to Lakenheath Village Hall! As well as the races – running at 15minute intervals – there will also be a raffle drawn during the evening, so don’t forget to bring some money with you!

All funds raised will go towards keeping your local library running. The Friends of Lakenheath Library are official members of Suffolk Libraries IPS, which holds charity status.
