Deliberations Continue Apace…

Exciting news for all you creative writers who took part in our Winter Writing Challenge: Any day now published author and library patron Alison Bruce will be receiving your stories! She will then read through them ALL and, in her capacity as head judge, decide upon the prize winners!

While we have no concrete time scale in place, we hope to have the judging completed within the next three weeks; from there we will start the compilation of the book and the organising of the joint prize giving/book launch event!

Keep your eyes peeled to this blog, the Suffolk Libraries website or the windows of the library for any important dates and times you will definitely want to keep free.

WWC Update

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed a short story to our Winter Writing Challenge; we have been really impressed with the variety and quality of the creative pieces.

It has now been almost two weeks since the (extended) deadline and the Friends are hard at work reading through all the entries to select a shortlist from each age category. These finalists will then be sent to our guest judge and patron of Lakenheath Library, Alison Bruce, to choose the overall three winners.

The victors will be announced at our Award Ceremony (date TBA), so watch out for posters and keep an eye on this blog for when this exciting event will be taking place – we wouldn’t want any entrants to miss out on hearing the news first!

All entries will be published in a special compendium, with a cover specially designed by our library manager, and each winner will receive a copy of the book as well as £20 of book vouchers! An additional copy will be entered into the Suffolk Library system for anyone to borrow, anywhere in the county!
